Cocktail beers have become much more popular in recent years, so much so that Central City’s After Hours Pale Ale even won best in show at the Canadian Brewing awards last year. Flipping that idea on its head, the idea of beer cocktails is realized at In the Spirit of Beer, and takes some of BC’s favourite beer and Vancouver Island spirits, combining them in perfect harmony. Hosted at Lure Restaurant + Bar, this evening is sure to change minds and create conversations about the versatility of beer at the bar.
Some of the perfect beer for those cocktails are typically wild and sour, and if you want to learn more about the wild side of beer, Île Sauvage Brewing is hosting another Beer School event on just that: Wild fermented beers. Advanced Cicerone Stephane Turcotte will walk you through a flight of six wild fermented beers, discussing the wide variety of unique results that can occur.
